Delete your ClipCaption account

You can ask us to delete your account and the data linked to it at any time — no app needed. Here’s how it works and exactly what happens to your data.

We confirm it’s you

We reply to the account’s email address to confirm the request before anything is removed.

Your account is deleted

Your account and its data are deleted within 30 days, and we email you when it’s done.

  • Your account — email address, name, profile photo and sign-in details
  • Your projects — uploaded videos, audio, transcripts, captions and exported videos
  • Your usage data — credit balance (unused credits are forfeited) and saved preferences
  • Marketing — your email is removed from all product and marketing emails

KeptWhat we keep, and for how long

  • Payment records — invoices and transaction records — 8 years, as Indian tax and accounting law requires
  • Limited account records — the minimum needed for legal, fraud-prevention and audit purposes — up to 3 years
  • Backups — encrypted backups roll off automatically within 90 days
  • Trained AI models — interaction data already used to train our models cannot be extracted from them

Common questions

How long does deletion take?

We confirm your request by email and complete the deletion within 30 days. We email you once your account has been deleted.

Will deleting my account cancel my subscription?

We cancel any subscription you bought on our website as part of the deletion. If you subscribed through Google Play, cancel it in the Play Store app (Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions) — deleting your account does not stop Google Play billing on its own.

Can I delete some of my data without deleting my account?

Yes. You can delete any project — along with its video, captions and exports — from the project menu in the app at any time. For anything else, email contact@clipcaption.io and tell us what you’d like removed.

Can I undo a deletion?

No. Once your account is deleted it cannot be restored, and your projects and unused credits are gone. You’re welcome to sign up again with the same email as a new account.
